How to approach NMAT

  • Each section has its own clock: about 47 seconds a question in Language Skills, 87 in Quant and 67 in Reasoning. Practise each section at its own pace.
  • There is no negative marking, so answer every question before a section closes.
  • Data sufficiency and data interpretation carry real weight in Quantitative Skills. Learn the five standard data-sufficiency options by heart.
  • Language Skills is short on time: read reading-comprehension questions first, then the passage.
  • With up to three attempts, treat the first as a full rehearsal and use your score report to plan the retake.
