Tech Mahindra test pattern: aptitude, technical, coding and more
Tech Mahindra's fresher hiring has a long online test (aptitude, technical with one coding problem, communication and a psychometric test), a story-writing round, a technical interview and an HR interview. The aptitude, technical and communication sections are elimination rounds. Students report no negative marking.
Companies do not publish an official, fixed test pattern, and it can change from drive to drive. The pattern below is the one reported by students in recent drives. Your test invitation is the final word.

What to prepare
- Aptitude: quant (percentages, ratio, work, speed, profit and loss, data interpretation), reasoning (series, arrangements, coding-decoding, syllogisms) and verbal (reading, grammar, vocabulary). It is a long section, so stamina matters: practise full-length sets.
- Technical MCQs: C and OOP basics, data structures, DBMS, OS and networking.
- Coding: one easy-to-medium problem; partial credit for each test case passed.
- Communication: listening, reading and spoken English tasks.
- Psychometric: answer honestly and consistently; there are no right answers.
Story writing
Students describe a short creative writing task, usually a story based on a picture or a prompt. Keep it simple: a beginning, a problem and an ending, in clear English, with no spelling mistakes.
Interviews
Technical questions on your project, one language, OOP and SQL; HR questions on relocation, shifts and why Tech Mahindra.
Eligibility (commonly reported)
