Deloitte fresher test pattern: aptitude sections and interview

Deloitte (through Deloitte USI in India) hires freshers with an online aptitude test of three sections (Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability), and off-campus drives add a programming section. Students report no negative marking but a cut-off in each section. The test is followed by a combined technical and HR interview; group discussions are reported to be no longer part of the standard process.

Companies do not publish an official, fixed test pattern, and it can change from drive to drive. The pattern below is the one reported by students in recent drives. Your test invitation is the final word.

What to prepare

• Quant: percentages, profit and loss, ratio, averages, work, speed, interest, probability and data interpretation.
• Logical Reasoning: arrangements, puzzles, series, syllogisms and data sufficiency.
• Verbal: reading comprehension, sentence correction, fill in the blanks, para-jumbles.
• Programming (off-campus): data structures, algorithms, OOP and output prediction in C, C++, Java, Python or C#.

Interview

Technical questions on your project, OOP, DBMS and one language, combined with HR questions on teamwork, client communication and why Deloitte. Clear communication matters a lot for a consulting firm.

Tips

1. Each section has its own minimum, so do not skip your weakest section in practice.
2. With no negative marking, answer every question before time runs out.
3. Prepare a two-minute introduction and a clear explanation of your final-year project.
