Capgemini test pattern: pseudocode, English, game-based aptitude
Capgemini's fresher hiring is known for its game-based aptitude test and a pseudocode round. Students report that every round is an elimination round, so you must clear each to reach the next, and that there is no negative marking.
Companies do not publish an official, fixed test pattern, and it can change from drive to drive. The pattern below is the one reported by students in recent drives. Your test invitation is the final word.
Reported pattern
| Round | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Technical MCQs and pseudocode | 40 | 40 minutes |
| English communication | 30 | 30 minutes |
| Game-based cognitive test | 4 games | about 30 minutes |
| Behavioural assessment | Statements about yourself | 20 to 25 minutes |
| Coding (for higher roles) | 2 | 45 minutes |
| Technical and HR interviews |
Students report rough qualifying levels of about 60% in the technical test and 65% in English, and at least half the test cases in coding. Capgemini does not publish cut-offs.
The rounds explained
- Pseudocode and technical MCQs: output prediction for loops, recursion, arrays and conditions, plus C, OOP, data structures and basic DBMS concepts.
- English communication: grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion and short reading passages.
- Game-based aptitude: short puzzle games that test memory, attention, pattern spotting and planning. You cannot study content for it, but playing similar free "brain games" for a week makes you comfortable with the format. Read each game's instructions slowly; most mistakes come from rushing the rules.
- Behavioural test: describe how you work. Answer honestly and consistently.
- Coding: easy-to-medium problems on arrays and strings.
Interview
Expect questions on your project, one programming language, OOP, SQL and your reasons for choosing Capgemini, and HR questions on relocation and teamwork.

- Days 6 to 10: technical MCQs (C, OOP, DBMS) and brain-game practice.

Free reasoning and verbal practice with solutions is on Target Campus placement practice.
