Accenture assessment pattern: cognitive, technical, coding and communication

Accenture's fresher hiring has four stages: a cognitive and technical assessment, a coding round, a communication assessment and an interview. The first two are elimination rounds. Students report no negative marking, so attempt every question.

Companies do not publish an official, fixed test pattern, and it can change from drive to drive. The pattern below is the one reported by students in recent drives. Your test invitation is the final word.

What to prepare

  • Verbal: reading comprehension, sentence correction, fill in the blanks and vocabulary.
  • Reasoning: series, coding-decoding, arrangements, syllogisms and critical reasoning.
  • Numerical: percentages, ratio, speed, work, profit and loss, simple and compound interest.
  • MS Office and common applications: Excel functions and formulas, Word and PowerPoint features, keyboard shortcuts. Many engineers ignore this and lose easy marks.
  • Pseudocode: predict output of loops, conditions, recursion and bit operations.
  • Networking, security and cloud: basics such as OSI layers, IP addressing, common attacks, encryption and cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Coding: two easy-to-medium problems on arrays, strings and loops. Passing more test cases gives more credit.
  • Communication: spoken English: read sentences aloud clearly, repeat sentences, and answer short questions. Practise speaking into your phone and listening back.

Interview

A combined technical and HR interview: your project, one language, OOP, SQL basics, and questions on teamwork, relocation and shifts.

Eligibility points to check

Students report that Accenture expects no active backlogs, completion of the degree on time, and no Accenture assessment or interview in the last three months. Confirm the rules in your drive notice.
