SNAP 2026: new pattern, test dates and how three attempts work

SNAP 2026, the entrance test for the MBA programmes of Symbiosis International University (SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, SIBM Bengaluru, SIIB and other Symbiosis institutes), will be held on 13, 19 and 26 December 2026. Registration on snaptest.org closes on 25 November 2026. You can take the test up to three times, and your best score counts.

The big change this year is a new Ethics, Morality and Values section. The paper still has 60 questions, now split across four sections.

Symbiosis announced the new section for SNAP 2026. Check the official sample test on snaptest.org to see the type of Ethics questions before your first attempt.

Speed is the real test

Sixty questions in about sixty minutes means one question per minute. SNAP questions are individually easier than CAT questions, so the score depends on how many you can do accurately at speed.

  • General English: grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction and short reading passages. Answer quickly; do not reread.
  • Reasoning: arrangements, series, coding-decoding, syllogisms and critical reasoning. This section is the most scoring for many students.
  • Quant, DI and DS: arithmetic-heavy, with a few data sufficiency questions. Skip long calculations.
  • Ethics, Morality and Values: expect situation-based questions on doing the right thing at work and in society. Choose answers that are fair, honest and practical.

How selection works

Each Symbiosis institute shortlists on its own SNAP cut-off. The final merit uses a composite score: SNAP scaled to 50 marks, a group exercise for 10 marks and a personal interaction for 40 marks. So a good interview can make up for a few marks in the test.

How to use three attempts

  1. Book the first date even if you feel unprepared. It shows you the real interface and timing.
  2. Analyse the first attempt: which section ate your time, and how many wrong answers you made.
  3. Fix one thing for each later attempt, for example skipping long Quant questions or reducing guesses.
  4. Because only the best score counts, a weaker later attempt does not hurt you.
