NMIMS NPAT: pattern, eligibility and attempts for BBA and B.Com

NPAT (National Test for Programs After Twelfth) is the entrance test of SVKM's NMIMS for undergraduate programmes such as BBA, B.Com (Hons), B.Sc Finance and B.Sc Economics at its Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru and other campuses. The test has 120 questions in 100 minutes, one mark each, with no negative marking, and you can take it up to three times in a cycle.

In 2026 the test ran in two phases, from February to March and from April to June. The 2027 schedule is not announced yet at the time of writing; check the official NPAT website from January.

That is 50 seconds per question. The questions are moderate; NPAT is a test of speed and accuracy.

Strategy

  • Answer every question. With no negative marking, a blank never helps.
  • Do the quick questions in each section first, then return to the longer ones.
  • Use all three attempts if needed: take the first early, find your weakest section, and fix it before the next.

A plan for Class 12 students

  1. Before boards: 45 minutes a day, alternating quant and reasoning; read for 15 minutes daily.
  2. After boards: a full 120-question mock every two days, with careful review of time spent per section.
  3. Book your first attempt early in the window so that you have time for retakes.
